A list of Hammy the Hamster characters will be here. Also, other players from works that will be published later.
Hammy - The protagonist. A lazy, fat, yet not apathetic hamster. Don’t let him fool you, he’s short-sighted and impulsive but not quite dumb. He also has a disturbing affinity for sunflower seeds.
George - Although never seen directly, George is one of the most importat human influences on Hammy’s life. His family may make occasional appearances too. George has a mother and father, and so far no revealed siblings.
Chuck - The smartest being in all creation, Chuck is often performing science experiments. He usually has to put up with the ignorance of his compatriots, but is frequently sided with by Hammy against their common foe:
Bob - The dumbest being in all creation. Well, not entirely, as he does have his heart in the right place. He is usually paired with Chuck, although whether or not they are cage-mates is unclear.
Topsy - Look, I can’t draw a cat. At least not yet. I’m workin’ on it, and I’ll post a pic of Topsy soon enough. He lives next door, with neighbor Matt. Inexplicably, he can speak! He’s intellectual, and not a typical cartoon cat who can speak but still acts evil and cat-like. He’s more akin to Jeeves of Jeeves and Wooster, but of course still loves the taste of hamster. I mean, come on, who doesn’t?
Puny - A Roborovski Dwarf, Puny was bought by Matt to spite George. Roborovski’s may be the smallest breed of hamster, but they are also the fastest. Puny is ill-termpered.
Davis - A golden Syrian hamster. When Hammy turned 2, he had a mid-life crisis and ran away. In the intervening time, George bought a replacement, now Hammy’s cage mate. George has admitted the main reason was because Davis was golden, but if Hammy says it, it’s racist.
Mousey - A mouse infesting Matt’s house, his name is not actually mousey. The hamsters are very prejudiced against gerbils, but the only gerbil they knew died on an exoplanet (long story), so they take what they can get. He has resigned himself to being called Mousey, and has not yet stated a preference to a real name.
The Black Bandits - Thieves, lords of crime, masters of vague evil agendas! These fiends are always up to no good, yet Hammy et al. can stop them, if it’s not out of their way to do so.
Jim & Spyke, respectively - They met Chuck at Caltech and followed him home. Then they decided to stay. Matt, Topsy, and Puny allow them to live in a burrow in their back yard. While smart lads (OK, Spyke could be a lass), when they get into Matt’s dad’s beer, trouble ensues, but always ends with a message and a moral, to Hammy’s chagrine.
